Why Work With Me?

Hi! I’m Alyssa Austin. I’m a certified life coach with a focus on career and confidence building. I’m the author of the Amazon best-selling book, “35 Days of Confidence: Find Your Voice, Fulfill Your Dreams and Focus Your Inner Power,” and I spend my days coaching motivated individuals how to achieve their personal and professional goals. 

But just a few years ago, I was in your shoes.

From 2011-2018, I found myself hopping from job to job every couple of years, trying to find a role where I would feel happy, appreciated, and fulfilled in the work that I was doing. Along the way, I made my way up the corporate ladder. I became a manager, and then a senior manager. I won awards. I coached others to success. My clients were happy. My career – on paper (or on LinkedIn) – was thriving.

But I was unhappy. And here’s why:

…Because I wasn’t using my gifts and my talents.

…Because I wasn’t contributing to the world around me in a way that I found meaningful.

…Because my work-life balance was wayyyy off (I later learned this was because I was letting work follow me everywhere, and wasn’t using my time outside of the office intentionally to refuel my tank.

And a host of other reasons. 

But the thing that ALWAYS brought me joy and fulfillment in my work was helping others achieve their goals. 

So in 2016, I officially started my own coaching business: Poised & Professional, and in 2018, I quit my corporate job to dedicate my time and energy to my coaching business full-time. The goal of my work is to equip and empower motivated professionals like yourself to create their dream lives and careers, and over the last 3+ years, I’ve been able to help over 100  wonderful clients do exactly that. 

I personally believe that EVERYone deserves to live a passionate, purposeful life of their own design. And not only that – I believe that this ideal life is completely 100% available to each of us – you just have to gain absolute clarity on what it is that you want, set meaningful goals, and take the necessary action to get there.
