What Is The Friday Five Newsletter?
The Friday Five is a new weekly newsletter by Alyssa Anne Austin and Poised & Professional designed to help you reflect on wins and learnings, cultivate a habit of gratitude, grow in self-awareness, and celebrate the incredible person you authentically are!
How The Friday Five Works
Every Friday morning, you’ll receive an email from me that includes five specific prompts, all focused on self-awareness and self-reflection. Self discovery (and the subsequent self-awareness that comes from this practice) is SO important. (If you’ve read my book, 35 Days of Confidence, you are very familiar with just how much I love self-discovery prompts!)
Each week, I’ll be going through this weekly exercise as well, and we’ll be able to connect through the newsletter. In fact, part of the reason why I wanted to launch this newsletter is because answering these prompts is something I already do on a daily basis! Journaling is a key part of my morning routine, and these are elements that I frequently reflect on each day.
So – I figured this would be a great way for me to share this habit with you, and for us to grow in self awareness, joy, and gratitude together!

Why I Started The Friday Five Newsletter
A few weeks ago, when I was home visiting my family, I was reading an affirmations book (I’m raising my self-discovery nerd hand over here, in case you can’t see!), and I stumbled across this simple page:
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been wanting to launch a weekly self discovery-focused newsletter. But the timing was never quite right. I was always too busy, couldn’t crack the right formula for how I wanted the newsletter to look and function, or it just never “felt right.”
And it was like… a tiny lightbulb went off in my brain. So simple, but so true! And this three-part formula has really stuck with me ever since – I haven’t been able to get it out of my head.
A few weeks later, The “Friday Five” newsletter presented itself to me with perfect clarity (a three-week trip to Europe will do that for a girl!) Building on this simple three-part formula, as well as the journaling prompts I’ve used every day for the last 5 years, I created The Friday Five as a way to cultivate a habit of happiness, gratitude, and joy for my entire community.
